Cleaning
Regular cleanings prevent dirt, grime and other debris from building up on the drive systems and mechanical systems. Buildup can cause mechanical failures and safety hazards. Consistent cleaning keeps the machine operating smoothly and maintains a clean appearance.
Normal Clean: Surface-level dirt removal, dusting, and tread cleaning. Ideal for regular upkeep.
Deep Clean: Using Deep Cleaning Brushes and our Micro-Gel Solution, we can restore the escalator and remove stuck on grime.
Operations
For parts of a deep cleaning and risers, yes — the escalator must be locked out and powered off for safety.
For regular tread cleanings, no — Normal tread cleanings are done while the escalator is moving.
Not with the correct equipment. REN tools use absorbent pads and controlled solutions, keeping water and grime contained. Floors, skirts, and surrounding areas stay dry and safe during the process. No post-cleaning rinse needed.
Services
The biggest difference between REN Services and a normal cleaning service are the tools. REN uses patented tools specially designed for the escalator. No need for a bulky machine.
Normal clean: 15–30 minutes per unit depending on soil level
Deep clean: 45–90 minutes per unit. May take longer

Results and expectations

Deep cleaning removes years of embedded dirt, but it cannot reverse physical wear such as scratches, etching, coating loss, or corrosion. You can expect a restored, refreshed, and significantly cleaner appearance, but not a full cosmetic replacement.
